VC inaugurates one of the highest Indian flag-post

The Indira Gandhi National Open University’s (IGNOU’s) Vice-Chancellor, Prof. V. N. Rajasekharan Pillai inaugurated a 100 feet high Indian flag post outside the new VC block in the University today along with a new second class room block for regular students.
Addressing a large gathering of academics, officers and staff of the university, he stated ,“The flag post shall be lighted in the night with special lighting arrangements and the flag shall never be lowered. It is the first of its kind in a university in the capital region.”
“The flag has been procured from Flag Foundation India Limited and is of 30 feet by 40 feet dimension while Bajaj Electrical India Limited has sourced the flag post,” said Mr. Sudheer Reddy, Chief Project Officer, Construction and Maintenance Division (CMD), IGNOU.
The VC of the university today completed his five year tenure.
