President’s Entrance Scholarships 2011 at The University of British Columbia in Canada

Introduction : UBC recognizes the academic achievements of high school and post-secondary students through the President’s Entrance Scholarships. Students are selected for a President’s Entrance Scholarship based on their admission average; there is no separate application. You will find out if you have been awarded a President’s Entrance Scholarship, and the value of that scholarship, when you receive your offer of admission from UBC.

Eligibility :
You must be entering UBC for the first time :
To be eligible, you must be entering studies at UBC from a high school, college, university, or technical institute. If you have attended UBC previously, you are not eligible.

You must have a high academic standing : Your President’s Entrance Scholarship is based on your average at the point of admission and is confirmed in your admission offer letter. Grades for all students will be verified against official records.

Course load requirements to maintain eligibility : You must take 24 credits in your first year (September to April) in order to receive your scholarship. To be eligible for future scholarships, including the TREK Excellence Scholarships for continuing students, you must complete at least 27 credits in your first year (excluding wait-list and audit courses).

How To Apply : You don’t need to apply. You’ll automatically be considered for the award when you apply for admission.

Awards : In late August, you will receive an email with the subject line “Award Offer.” This email will provide you with information and instructions on how to accept your President’s Entrance Scholarship. Award money will be applied directly toward your tuition and fees in scheduled instalments. Full award and instalment details will be available through your Student Service Centre account after you accept your award.
