Unique opportunity for NE students at EduFair 09

GUWAHATI, May 3 – The Assam Tribune EduFair 09, to be held with a two-day programme from May 12 at the TR Phukan Indoor Stadium, Nehru Stadium complex, for the first time in the North-east, will provide students a unique opportunity to appear for a Psychometric and Cognitive Test at the fair premises.

Through this unique test, a student can actually judge his/her strengths, weaknesses, abilities, interests, personality traits, etc. and make an informed career decision which will be the best possible career path for the student, Sangeeta Goswami, representative of Mind India, the organizers of the test, said. Students will also get individual personalized career counseling for choosing the best career suited for the student, she said.

This year the Psychometric and Cognitive Tests will be the main attraction for the students and general visitors of the Assam Tribune Edufair09 which has already received overwhelming response from both students and participating educational institutions.

“We are introducing this for the first time in the Northeast and this test will be conducted in the Guwahati EduFair only. I urge all students to appear for this test and not to miss this unique opportunity,” said Ranadhi Sharma, PRO of the Assam Tribune Group.

Dipankar Dutta, president of CEC, said this rare opportunity should not be missed by any student of the North-east. It is a fantastic opportunity provided by the Assam Tribune Group and will benefit the students in a tremendous manner, he said.

It may be mentioned here that the Assam Tribune Edufair09 will include more than 100 reputed colleges and universities from the country and abroad and will remain open from 11 am to 7 pm daily. The fair will also be held in Shillong (May 15 and 16) and Dibrugarh (May 19 and 20).

Experts from Mind India and the Cognition Group, USA will conduct this test. Mind India has a good reputation in counseling and has been regularly organizing workshops and seminars in this field. The Cognition Group is a leading talent testing organization from the USA. Sophisticated machines with patented software are being specially brought in to Guwahati only for conducting this test, Sharma also informed.

Usually these tests are very costly and not available in the northeast. But, The Assam Tribune Group, keeping in mind its commitments to the society, has subsidized the cost of this test by 95 per cent. Students need to pay only Rs. 100 for appearing in this unique test now, Sharma said.

Students from the North-east do not get proper exposure as compared to students from other parts of the country and remains confused whether they want to study medical or engineering, management or commerce etc. This test will give them the opportunity to clear all doubts and therefore every student should appear for this test, said Sanjay Singh, Regional Director of Acharya Institutes, Bangalore.
