BANGALORE: The state government is sure to make those students aspiring for engineering seats happy as this academic year, there are 80,000 seats up for grabs. The government alone has 40,000 seats under its quota.
Higher education minister VS Acharya told reporters here on Monday that counselling for engineering courses would start from July 7. "Last year there were 8,067 seats left to be filled," he said.
Acharya said he would write to Union human resources development minister Kapil Sibal to ensure that AICTE finalises its seat matrix before March 31 from next academic year. "This would end any uncertainty for the students," he said.
