Virtual Student Fair to help Indian Students find US Universities

ndian students looking to earn a graduate degree or a bachelor's degree in the United States will have a new tool at their disposal August 27 when Hobsons hosts its fourth Virtual Student Fair.

A Virtual Student Fair (VSF) takes the best aspects of a traditional college fair and moves them online. The August 27 VSF, which is free to attend, will feature representatives from more than 50 U.S. colleges and universities that are seeking to attract Indian students to their campuses. In a virtual environment, students, parents, and counselors will be able to view photos and videos of the universities, download materials, and chat live with admissions officers, professors, and current students.

Hobsons has already hosted three VSF events in 2011, aimed at students in Southeast Asia, China, and Latin America. Based on the success of those events and building upon lessons learned, the August 27 India VSF will be the biggest yet.

The active hours of the India VSF are 12:00hs-20:00hs August 27, but the exhibit hall will remain open for repeat visits for 90 days. While university staff will not be available for chat during this extended time period, all of the videos, photos, and text documents will still be there for students and their families to review and download. This will give students the flexibility to go back for another look at a school they liked, or even to visit for the first time if they weren't able to make it to the live event.

Registration for the August 27 fair has already begun, and students can sign up quickly at www.hobsonsevents.com/india. The registration website also features a list of the participating U.S. colleges and universities, which will be updated as more schools sign up to attend.
