State HSLC Toppers Eye Civil Service Examination

The HSLC or the High School Leaving Certificate Examination results were declared yesterday, June 12th 2011. It is celebration time, especially for St Joseph’s School at Sangaiprou as there are 5 toppers from this school. These students have made the school proud.

Ningthoujam Rishikanta, the first rank holder has scored 483 marks out of 500 and has earned letter marks in more than one subject. When asked about his future academic plans, he expressed his desire to appear for the Civil Services Examination that is conducted by Union Public Service Commission.

The topper also went on to say that very soon he would be shifting to New Delhi to pursue further studies. When asked about his studying methods, Ningthoujam disclosed that he did not assign the number of hours he put in every day. He always stayed attentive in class or at his private tuition and followed lessons taught by his teachers. After returning home, revising the lessons thoroughly was of utmost importance and it helped him immensely. The topper also stated that he was confident of securing good marks but little did he know that he would top the examination.

He stated that it was important for the HSLC results to be declared at the earliest as it helps many students to get admission into colleges outside the state and in good educational institutes. The proud father of the topper disclosed that Rishikanta has been an excellent student since childhood. Topping his class regularly was common. The National Talent Search Center has been offering scholarship to his son regularly.

Rishikanta’s father also said that the National Talent Search Center has decided to sponsor his son’s further education. Ningthoukam Rishikanta is not only good in studies but he is a good sportsperson too. The topper takes active interest in table tennis and has won several accolades for his brilliant performance in this sport at the state level.

While the first rank holder wishes to move out of the state for further studies, his schoolmate and the 3rd rank holder has different plans. Daniel is unlikely to move out of the state but he says he may think of once he completes his Class XII. He stated that there is not much of a difference in the course curriculum up to Class XII and it is more or less the same else where.

However, Daniel has pinned his hopes on Civil Service Examination too and expressed his wishes about the same. Daniel also said that he was not able to complete his syllabus but tutorial classes have helped him a lot. He was concerned about the turn of events in the state and said that often the prevailing disturbances upset academic programs in the state.

Daniel has recommended that the number of holidays should be reduced considerably. Also a matter of concern is the state of affairs as far as electricity is concerned. Due to frequent power cuts, students are not able to give in their best. He also revealed his secret of success and said that even if the number of hours put in daily is not more, it is very important to concentrate even while studying for few hours
