Recent Development In Engineering Materials National Conference 2011 at Department of Applied Physics in Jharkhand
Introduction : Materials Science and Technology play a pivotal role in improving the standard of life and economic condition of the people. Classical examples are the development of light-weight aluminum bodies for automobiles, nickel based superalloys for defense applications, brake systems for high-speed trains, quieter aircrafts and insulation tiles for re-entry spacecrafts. The emerging materials have revolutionized industries related to opto-electronic, magnetic and nano-technology. The increasing environmental concerns demand more efficient use of material and energy resources. Whether for business, holidays or space exploration, materials science is needed to provide durable, high-performance materials that make traveling faster, safer, and more comfortable. Bio-technology is another field demanding materials with a combination of many properties. Materials science in conjunction with biotechnology, can meet this challenge. The increasing interconnectivity of our world requires faster and more reliable means of communication. The role of materials science and technology is already well established by now. Nano-science and nano-technology is emerging as most exciting and challenging interdisciplinary field which is going to create evolutionary changes in the field of new materials.
In the field of materials science, the barriers that divide academia, government institutions and industry must be reduced if not completely eliminated. The challenge is to bring industry, the public and the politicians together to achieve the goals. Without continued investment in science and technology, the discoveries of today-and the highly trained experts necessary to develop and exploit them-will not be available for the innovative products of tomorrow. Fostering links between researchers, theoreticians, industrial scientists, and managers through collaborative schemes and joint research is an obvious solution.
Scope Of Conference : The conference cum workshop aims to provide a common forum for distinguished academicians, technologists and young researchers to exchange their views on the latest development and future trends in the fields of materials engineering and technological for advance functional applications. Distinguished persons in the respective fields share their experience and knowledge with the participants, which in turn are expected to promote research activities in these advanced materials. This conference will also provide the platform for investment and collaborations between Academia, R&D sectors and Industries. The conference will be extremely useful in the sense that it will be attended by chemists, physicists and engineers making it truly interdisciplinary research on preparation, structure and other properties in the macro to nanoscale, surface engineering and their application in the Bio-technology, Renewable energy, Green Energy, Photonics, Waste management and pollution control, electronics, and electrical engineering. The Conference will attract Business Leaders, Investors, Capitalists, Scientists and Government Officials to bring together in a common platform to exchange their expertise & experience.
