CHENNAI – 4TH DIGITAL CONVERGENCE NATIONAL CONFERENCE 2011 – RMK ENGINEERING COLLEGE

Fourth National Conference on Digital Convergence 2011 at RMK Engineering College in Chennai

Introduction :
Digital convergence refers to the convergence of many industries into one conglomerate (Information Technologies, Telecommunication, Consumer Electronics, Biomedical systems and Entertainment) . Digital convergence will substantially impact people’s lifestyle and work style. VLSI and communication advances permit complex functions to be embedded ubiquitously giving intelligence and enhanced functionality to many products and services. This provides new, innovative solutions to consumers and business users. Based on digital technologies and digitized content it encompasses converged devices (such as smartphones, laptops, internet enabled entertainment devices and set top boxes), converged applications (e.g. music download on PC, voice, texts, video, pictures, broadcasts, presentation, streaming media, global connectivity and personalized services) and converged networks (IP networks).

The Fourth National Conference on Digital Convergence -2011 (FNCDC-2011) addresses all aspects of digital and mixed hardware/software system engineering. It is a discussion forum for researchers and engineers working on state-of-the-art investigations, development, and applications. It focuses on advanced system, design, and design automation concepts, paradigms, methods and tools, as well as, modern implementation technologies that enable effective and efficient development of high quality systems for important and demanding applications in fields such as (wireless) communication and networking ; measurement and instrumentation; health – care and medicine; military, space, avionic and automotive systems; security; multi-media and ambient intelligence.

The FNCDC-2011 offers a track of quality R&D updates from key experts and provides an opportunity in bringing in the new techniques and horizons that will contribute to digital convergence in the upcoming years.
