Central Govt provides special grant to Delhi University DU

New Delhi: The Union Government will soon provide a grant of Rs.33 crore to Delhi University (DU) as the first installment of the Rs.100 crore special grant promised last year.

Prof. Deepak Pental, Vice-Chancellor DU, said, "After getting first installment we will buy equipments for the new MTech courses. The second instalment will be used for creation of new facilities for the Faculty of Management Studies that will be shifted to the South Campus and the Department of Mathematical Sciences."

"We are also planning to send some of our faculty members abroad to study certain subjects, because various western universities have good courses in subjects like mathematical finance and bioinformatics. Our teachers will go and study these subjects," added Pental.

Colleges under DU will soon offer short term courses in ICT. source: http://indiaedunews.net
