JIPMER MBBS 2009 Important Dates

Commencement of issue of application ((On-line/sales by cash/postal request)) : 25.02. 2009
Last Date for issue of application (Postal request & On-line): 08.04.2009
Last Date for receipt of JIPMER 2008 MBBS applications both Off-line and On-line: 15.04.2009

DATE OF JIPMER MBBS 2009 ENTRANCE EXAMINATION: 7th June 2009 (Sunday)

Applications are invited from Resident Indian Nationals for admission to JIPMER MBBS course for the Session 2009. Eligibility Criteria and other details can be found on their Website: www.jipmer.edu. Seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates and persons with disability as per Government of India Rules. Reservation for OBC candidates would be applicable as and when Government Orders for the same are issued.

Prospectus and application forms (Scannable and non Scannable) can be obtained on cash payment of Rs. 750.00 (Unreserved and OBS) and Rs. 500.00 (SC/ST) from only The State Bank of India, JIPMER campus branch from 25.02.2009 to 15.04.2009. The bank timings when the application will be available are 10.00 AM to 04.00 PM on all working days (Monday to Friday) and from 10.00 Am to 12.00 Noon on Saturdays, Application forms can also be had from professor (Academic), JIMPER Puducherry 605006 up to 8 th April 2009 thru postal request, accompanied by a MICR bank draft of Rs. 750.00 (Unreserved and OBS) and Rs. 500.00 (SC/ST) drawn in favour of “Accounts Officer, JIPMER” payable at any nationalized bank in Puducherry (UT). Two 13×7 cm self addressed labels must accompany with the postal request for the correct delivery of the application forms.

Online applications will be issued Hall-Ticket for Entrance Examination only after the postal receipt of the competed form, Bank Draft and necessary enclosures by the Office of Professor (Academic), JIPMER On-line applicants while sending the completed form must indicate the center preferred by them for the Entrance Examination on the Postal Cover.

Total Seats for MBBS: JIPMER admits 75 (seventy five only) students to each batch of MBBS course, yearly once. They are available to eligible students as per the reservations under various categories, detailed below.

For Pondicherry natives: 20 (5 for Scheduled castes + 15 any others)

For students of other states: 26 (8 for Scheduled castes + 4 for Scheduled tribes + 14 for others)

Common All India Entrance Test by CBSE: 11

Central Government Nominations: 18

No seats are earmarked for Non-Resident Indians (no NRI quota)

JIPMER MBBS 2009 - Eligibility

Students who are Indian nationals, aged 17 years on or before 1st July and passed Higher Secondary Examination (+2) under 10+2+3 pattern with 50% marks in English and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together are eligible to appear in the Entrance Examination and try their merit.

JIPMER 2009 MBBS Entrance Exam Syllabus

JIPMER does not prescribe any syllabus for Entrance Examination. However, it is based on CBSE /Higher Secondary State board syllabus for 11th and 12th standard students.

JIPMER MBBS Entrance Exam Pattern

The Entrance Examination will be of multiple choice type questions totaling 200 in the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Each answer with correct response shall be awarded one mark. Zero Mark will be given for the question not answered. More than one answer indicated against a question, will be deemed as incorrect response and no mark will be given. There is no NEGATIVE MARKING. The model of the question of the Entrance Examination is given in the Prospectus
