Kolkata: Harsh Vardhan Chhaparia a management graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM-C) will soon join the election campaign for the BJP's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani. Perhaps, this for the first time a management graduate has attempted or aspires to join election campaign as an intern.
Harsh who has been an admirer of Advani, had dreamed for this moment for the last several months. He came to Delhi to met Advani. Harsh will join the election campaign from March.
"When I met Mr. Advani on January 30, he wanted to know why I was keen on volunteering for his campaign. I made no bones about my intentions. I told him that I wanted to know what Indian politics was all about. Managers and politicians deal with people," said Harsh, who was the students' council president at IIM-C.
"I got a signed copy of his autobiography, My Country, My Life," added Harsh.
Politics has always been a passion for Harsh, who has done his engineering from Singapore's Nanyang Technological University.
Harsh has served their as vice-president of the students' body.
"Now I am reading Advani's autobiography to understand him and his ideals better. I understand his organisational capabilities and I will try to learn from him the way he handles challenges," further said Harsh.
"I would love to know from this towering personality the art of making a public impact,'' said Harsh.
Harsh will also head for his new position at a global consultancy firm once the election is over.
