New Delhi: The fourth cutoff list of Delhi University which was declared on Friday finally closed their doors for science students. For those willing to pursue basic sciences in DU at lower cutoffs with only two colleges � Hans Raj and Moti Lal � now open for admissions in BSc (honours) physics.
But the aspirants from commerce and humanities still stand a chance in Delhi University. As many as 16 colleges will still admit students in BA Programme with cutoffs coming down by 0.25% to 5% in the fourth list. 10 colleges still offer BCom and while those waiting for BCom (honours) cutoffs to drop further can try their luck at five colleges, including Hans Raj.
Hans Raj College of North campus chose to drop its cutoff for BCom (H), by 0.25% in the fourth list, other than this, all other North Campus colleges have closed admissions for BCom (H). Hans Raj College has also decreased the cutoff for BA Programme by 4% for those willing to study Sanskrit as part of the course.
I n south campus colleges, Aditi Mahavidyalaya in Bawana and Bhagini Nivedita College near Najafgarh have pulled down their BA Programme cutoffs by 5% and 3% respectively.
Now there is also a chance to study BCom for commerce students with an aggregate in the seventies.
PG DAV (evening) and Swami Shraddhanand College will admit commerce students to BCom at 78% and 75% respectively. Shyam Lal College (evening) is now offering BCom at 76% - down by 4% from the previous list.
Five colleges are also offering BA (honours) economics. With the cutoff for BA (H) Economics being 85.25%, Deshbandhu College has the lowest cutoff for the course. Ramjas College has reopened admissions to BA (honours) economics in the fourth list due to withdrawals by bringing it down by 0.25% from the first list. Sri Venkateswara has also dropped it cutoff by BA honours) economics by 0.5%.
Though BA (honours) English had promised hope in the third list, all non-CATE colleges have now closed admissions to course. Only seven of 21 colleges will still admit students to this course on the basis of CATE cutoff which has come down by 5% in Zakir Husain College and 7% in Bharati College.
