Introduction: The major objective of the three year Master?s Degree in Computer Applications (MCA) is to offer the graduates in Engineering, Arts, Sciences and Commerce, an opportunity to learn the latest trends in the IT field on par with industry requirements to meet the global demands.

The Department of Computer Science of Avinashilingam University was established in 1988 with B.Sc. Computer Science. Post Graduate courses M.Sc and M.C.A are offered since 1991. It takes the pride of being one of the pioneers in Coimbatore in offering post graduate programs in the field of IT. The University is well known for its discipline, qualified and experienced faculty members and labs equipped with latest software and hardware in a networking environment. There is a separate browsing centre available for Internet access. Most of our alumni hold very high positions in National and International Organizations.

Eligibility: For admission to the Ist year B.A., B.Sc., B.S., B.B.A., B.C.A., B.P.E., B.Com., and B.Sc., B.Ed., M.Ed., Degree Courses, the applicant must have completed seventeen years of age as on 1st July, 2009.
Duration: 3 Years

Application Procedure: Application for admission to the first year of the Bachelor’s Degree courses should be sent within ten days of publication of the results of the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Examinations to the Registrar, Avinashilingam University for Women, Coimbatore-43, in the prescribed application form available in the office on payment of Rs.50/- in cash or D.D. drawn in favour of the Registrar, Avinashilingam University for Women, Coimbatore-43. payable at Coimbatore together with a self addressed and stamped envelope for Rs.15/- (23 x 10 cms in size); Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu can get the prospectus and application form by paying 50% of cost of application (i.e) Rs.25/- on production of an attested copy of Community Certificate and a Higher Secondary Examination Mark list.

Spot Admission: Spot admission will be given based on marks for all the Under Graduate Courses. The candidates are advised to produce the Internet Mark Sheets (+2) and apply immediately for registration and admission.
