for admission to Engineering and Architecture (including Planning) programmes at the undergraduate level in the country is being conducted by CBSE

The exam date for All India Engineering Entrance Examination had been announced by CBSE i.e. 25th April 2010.

Registration facility for submission of online application for AIEEE-2010 from 17.11.2009

The sale of application form from the identified branches of Syndicate Banks all over India, identified institutions and Regional Offices of CBSE will be started from 1st December to 31st December 2009.

The last date for online submission of form will be 31st December 2009

AIEEE 2010 NOTIFICATION

The CBSE Notification says "

The ninth All India Engineering Entrance Examination for admissions in B.E./B.Tech and B.Arch/B.Planning in various national level institutes like NITs, IIITs, deemed universities, government funded institutions and states like Haryana and Uttrakhand will be held on 25th April, 2010 all over India and abroad.

This examination will be held in two parts viz B.E./B.Tech from 09.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and for B.Arch/B.Planning from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. Due to overwhelming response of online registration facility, this year submission of online application form for AIEEE 2010 will be starting from 17th November, 2009.

The last date for online submission of form will be 31st December 2009

The candidates desirous to apply through online facility can visit CBSE website www.cbse.nic.in or www.aieee.nic.in.

The sale of AIEEE 2010 information bulletin through identified branches of syndicate banks and institutions will be starting from 1st December to 31st December 2009. A separate notification in this regard will be issued in due course of time.

Scheme of Examination

Entrance examination would consist of two papers i.e. 1st paper consisting of three parts of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of equal weightage with objective type questions for BE/B.Tech courses and 2nd paper – consisting of Mathematics,Aptitude Test and Drawing for B. Architecture and B. Planning. The Aptitude Test is designed to evaluate candidate’s perception, imagination, observation, creativity and architectural awareness.

Scoring and Negative Marking

There will be objective type questions with four options having single correct answer. For each incorrect response one fourth (1/4) of the total marks allotted to the question would be deducted. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if no response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet. The candidates are advised not to attempt such item in the answer sheet if they are not sure of the correct response. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked. All objective type questions are required to be answered on specially designed machine gradable answer sheets. Answers are to be marked using ball point pen (black/blue) only. For the purpose of evaluation, Test Booklet Code as printed in the Answer Sheet on Side-2 will be accepted as final.

Eligibility

Candidates must have passed 10+2 (Senior Secondary – Class XII) examination or its equivalent referred to as a qualifying examination from a recognized Board/University for admission to B.E./B.Tech., B.Arch. & B. Planning Courses as under.

The Candidates appearing in 10+2 (Class-XII) final or equivalent examination in 2009 may also appear in AIEEE provisionally, subject to their fulfilling the specified eligibility criteria at the time of appearing for counselling.

The number of attempts, which a candidate can avail at All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination, shall be limited to 03 (three) uniformly for all the candidates in consecutive years. Hence, the candidates passed +2 Exam in 2008,2009 or appearing in +2 in 2010 are only eligible to appear in AIEEE-2010. Candidates passed +2 in 2007 or before or appearing in 2011 are not eligible to appear in AIEEE 2010.

Date of Birth :

Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01,1985 are eligible. However in case of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Physically Challenged candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by five years meaning thereby candidates born on or after October 01,1980 are eligible.

Cost of Examination Bulletin inclusive of Examination fee for B.E./B.Tech only or for B.Arch. /B. Planning only ;

Rs. 450/- for General & OBC Category and Rs. 225/- for SC/ST category for either B.E./B.Tech or B. Arch/B. Planning only that includes examination and counselling fees. Candidates opting for B.E./B. Tech. and B.Arch./B. Planning (Both) will have to pay additional fee of Rs. 300/- for General/OBC Category and Rs 150/- for SC/ST category by means of Demand Draft as per instructions given in Clause – 8.3 of the Information Bulletin. Candidates opting Examination Centre in Foreign Country will have to pay additional fee as mentioned in Information Bulletin.


Reservation for OBC & SC/ST and Physically Handicapped candidates will be applicable as per the Government of India/States concerned existing rules or as amended from time to time.

Sale of Information Bulletin/AIEEE 2010 Application Form :

The Information Bulletin containing the Application Form and other details will be available for sale from 01/12/2009 from designated branches of Syndicate Bank /Other Banks/NITs/Deemed Universities/Institutions and the Regional Offices of CBSE listed in this notice. In addition to the cost of Information Bulletin, the designated branches of Syndicate Bank or designated institutions would charge Rs. 5/- extra as service/Processing charges. The Information Bulletin containing Application Form can also be obtained by post by sending a MICR bank Draft of Rs. 500/- for General/OBC Category and Rs. 275/- for SC/ST Category (Which includes Rs. 50/- towards postal charges) along with a self-addressed envelope of the size of 12” x10” without postage stamps) from the Assistant Secretary (AIEEE), Central Board of Secondary Education, PS-1-2, Institutional Area, I.P. Extension, Patparganj, Delhi-110092. The payment is to be made through Demand Draft in favour of Secretary, CBSE, Payable at Delhi/New Delhi. The candidate should write his/her Name and Address on the back of the Demand Draft/Pay Order. However, the Board will not be responsible if the forms are not available at any of the designated branches of Syndicate Bank/Other Banks/Institutions specified in the Information Bulletin. If a candidate fails to enclose a self-addressed envelop of the size of 12”x10’, the CBSE shall not be held responsible for non-dispatch of Information Bulletin/Application Form. Request for supply of Application Form by post, if required will not be entertained after 15/12/2008. The last date for receipt of complete applications in CBSE will be 31/12/2009. The applications would be received in the Board’s office only by Registered/Speed Post and not in person or through any private courier. Use of address of any coaching centre/coaching Institutions is strictly prohibited. If anybody uses the address of any coaching institution his/her application form will be rejected.( Branches List )

On line submission of application
Eligible candidates may also apply through the application format available on the website of AIEEE, www.aieee.nic.in with photograph, signature and the requisite fee. If the candidate wants to appear only for one paper i.e. of B.E./B.Tech. or for B.Arch.. Planning a payment of Rs. 450/- for General/OBC Candidate and Rs. 225/- for SC/ST category need to be made. Candidate opting for B.E. /B.Tech and B.Arch/B. Planning (Both the papers) will have to send payment of Rs. 750/- for General/OBC Category and Rs. 375/- for SC/ST category. The forms need to be sent by Registered /Speed post only and not by Courier. Candidates should pay the fee as mentioned in para 8.3. The fee could be submitted in the following ways.

  1. By Credit card – In addition to Exam. fee 2.5% will have to be paid by the candidates as service/processing charges.
  2. Through Demand Draft in favour of Secretary, CBSE, payable at Delhi/New Delhi.
  3. Through challan form generated at the time of submission of particulars and downloaded from website in any branch of Syndicate Bank across the country.

Candidate opting Examination Centre in foreign country has to pay additional fees as mentioned in information Bulletin in para 8.3.

AIEEE 2010 RESULTS

Evaluation and Declaration of AIEEE 2010 Results

On the basis of performance in AIEEE, separate rank lists will be prepared for B.E./B.Tech. and B.Arch/B.Planning. Score Card indicating All India Rank and State Rank with total marks and marks in each subject shall be sent to all candidates appearing in AIEEE.

Candidates scoring above a certain cut off percentage of marks (being different for General, OBC, SC/ST/PH category candidates) to be called for counselling shall be determined at the time of declaration of AIEEE results.All India/State Rank and marks shall also be released on AIEEE website. The results of AIEEE-2010 is likely to be declared on or before 7th June, 2010.The All India/State Rank to be called for Central counselling will be decided by Central Counselling Board which will be constituted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India and decision of seat matrix etc. will be taken by Central Counselling Board. The required information will be displayed at apropriate time on website www.ccb.nic.in .

The score cards will be dispatched to the candidates from 12.06.2010 to 27.06.2010 under Certificate of Posting (UPC). The Board will not be responsible for any consequences that may arise due to loss of score card in transit.In case of non-receipt of the score card within the stipulated period candidate may apply for duplicate score card on payment of Rs. 50/- (plus postal charges of Rs. 30/- for outstation candidates) in the form of Demand Draft in favour of Secretary, CBSE, payable at Delhi/New Delhi between 09.07.2010 to 31.08.2010. No request for issue of duplicate score card will be entertained thereafter.

As per the notified cut off score and the candidates declared eligible up to the notified Rank shall be called to appear for counselling.

In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks, inter-se merit of such candidates shall be determined as follows:

B.E/B.Tech - By marks obtained in Mathematics and then in Physics in the AIEEE and then by age (preference to older candidates).

B.Arch/B.Planning - By marks obtained in Aptitude Test and then in Mathematics in the AIEEE and then by age (preference to older candidates).

Rules Of Reservation

Reservation for SC/ST and Physically Handicapped candidates will be applicable as per Govt. of India/State concerned existing rules or amended from time to time. However,reservation for OBC candidates,if any,would be communicated through newspaper/advertisement/AIEEE website as and when Government orders for the same are issued.

AIEEE Admit Card

The Admit Card will be sent by post "Under Certificate of Posting (UPC)" to the candidates (including those who made application online) about four weeks before the conduct of the examination, however, the Board will not be responsible for any consequences that may arise due to loss of admit card in transit. It will be the responsiblity of the candidate to contact/write to the Board in case he/she is not in receipt of the Admit Cards by 6th April 2010. Such requests be sent to Assistant Secretary (AIEEE), Central Board of Secondary Education, PS 1-2 Institutional Area, IP Extension, Patparganj, Delhi-110 092 with 2 photographs (as pasted on the Application Form), one should be attested by Principal of the institution where candidate is studying/passed XII or by the gazetted officer. Photocopy of the Application Form, proof regarding remittance of fee (photocopy of the Demand Draft/Challan) in respect of those candidates who have made application online, and the original postal receipt issued by the Post Office for having dispatched the Application Form by Registered/Speed Post in order to get a duplicate Admit Card. Such request for issue of duplicate admit card should accompany with a Demand Draft in favour of Secretary,CBSE payable at Delhi/New Delhi amounting Rs.50/- as fee and additional Rs.30/- as postal charges for outstation candidates.Request for the issue of admit card after the examination will not be entertained.
In no case the duplicate Admit Card would be issued at the Examination Centres.
